We have so many questions.
Mainly... how did a ridiculously handsome British Shorthair with enormous amber eyes, a permanently concerned little squish face and enough charm to power a small suburb end up in a rural pound?
We'll probably never know.
What we do know is that when Shrimply arrived, he was carrying some significant wounds believed to have been caused by either an accident or cruelty. Whatever happened before rescue wasn't kind to him, but despite everything, this beautiful boy has chosen love.
Shrimply is one of those cats who quietly steals your heart.
The moment you start patting him, his motor starts. His purr is honestly impressive. Add in his hilarious squeaky little meow and the tiny chirps he uses to chat with you, and you'll quickly realise he's equal parts gentleman and adorable little weirdo.
His favourite things include:
🧡 Being brushed like the distinguished prince he believes he is.
🧡 Belly rubs (yes... a cat who voluntarily rolls over for tummy scratches).
🧡 Wand toys that awaken his inner hunter.
🧡 Following his favourite humans around just to be part of whatever they're doing.
🧡 Trying to convince every cat he meets that they should obviously be best friends immediately.
Unfortunately, not every cat appreciates Shrimply's... enthusiastic social skills. His foster siblings have found his very close conversations a little overwhelming, but his intentions are always sweet. He genuinely loves feline company and would likely thrive with a friendly, confident cat who can appreciate his unique communication style.
Because of his past, Shrimply can be easily startled by sudden movements, loud noises or unfamiliar people. He doesn't hand out his trust instantly, and that's okay. He likes to get to know each person at his own pace before deciding they're part of his safe circle.
He has also met both calm and energetic dogs. A quiet, respectful dog didn't bother him, while a bouncy one was a bit too much excitement for his liking.
Shrimply will need a patient family who can give him a quiet room to settle into when he first arrives home. Once he realises he's safe, though, his affectionate personality shines. Before long, you'll have a shadow with giant amber eyes quietly following you from room to room, purring every chance he gets and reminding you that some of the softest hearts belong to those who've had the hardest beginnings.
