Lilly - 898

Female Dog aged Young Adult.

Lilly is playful, affectionate and full of enthusiasm for just about everything life has to offer.

She’s a clever, energetic girl who loves walks, swimming, fetch, training, exploring and playing with other dogs. She has enjoyed some great supervised playdates and would happily spend her days running, wrestling and making new doggy friends.

Her confidence has grown enormously since coming into care. She can still feel a little unsure in new or busy environments, but she does really well in quieter places where she has time and space to settle.

🏡 Living With Lilly

Lilly is an affectionate girl who loves giving kisses, curling up on the couch and snuggling in bed with her people.

She’s generally doing well indoors and is very comfortable in her crate. She may have a little whine when left before settling, and like many clever, energetic dogs, she does best with suitable toys and enrichment to keep her occupied.

Lilly doesn’t always realise how big or strong she is when asking for affection, so her cuddles can occasionally arrive with a little more enthusiasm than expected. 😂

💜 Lilly’s Perfect Home

Lilly would suit an active family who can give her plenty of exercise, mental stimulation and opportunities to explore.

She could potentially live with another friendly, playful dog who can match her enthusiasm. She’s strong and still learning to manage her excitement, so her new family will need to be confident handling her and committed to continuing her training.

A rural property or secure home with room to enjoy herself could suit her well. Because of her size, strength and enthusiastic greetings, she would be best suited to a home with teenagers rather than younger children.

🎓 Training & Progress

Lilly is a clever girl who learns new cues very quickly, especially when food, praise or affection are involved.

She already knows:

🐾 Sit
🐾 Drop
🐾 Leave it
🐾 Wait
🐾 Stay
🐾 Recall
🐾 Crate
🐾 Bed
🐾 Shake
🐾 Toilet cue

Her recall is good most of the time in secure areas, and she is gentle and soft-mouthed when taking treats.

Lilly can become very excited around other dogs and may pull on lead. She’ll need continued positive training to help her practise calmer greetings and improve her lead manners.

🐶 Compatibility

Dogs: Lilly loves playing with other dogs, and her supervised playdates have gone very well. She can become extremely excited, so careful matching and calm introductions will be important.

Children: Best suited to older children due to her strength, energy and enthusiastic greetings.

Cats: Lilly has a high interest in cats. She could only potentially live with a confident, genuinely dog-savvy cat following careful introductions and ongoing management.

Livestock: Not tested.

🐾 A Few Things to Know

Lilly is happiest exploring quieter, low-stimulation parks while she continues building confidence. Busy environments can still feel overwhelming, so she’ll need a family willing to introduce new places gradually.

She is also currently very anxious when travelling in the car and will need patient support to help her become more comfortable.

Lilly enjoys digging and has a keen eye for anything left unattended on a bench or table.

She’s still learning that gardens are for enjoying rather than rearranging, and that not everything within reach has been left there especially for her. 😂

💜 Lilly’s Future

Lilly has already made excellent progress and has so much potential.

She’s clever, loving and always ready for the next adventure, but she’s equally happy settling in for kisses and a cuddle once the fun is over.

With consistency, positive guidance and a family willing to help her channel all that enthusiasm, Lilly will make an incredibly affectionate and entertaining companion.

She’s looking for someone to walk with, swim with, learn with, cuddle with, and occasionally remind to keep all snacks safely away from the edge of the bench. 💜🐾
